The prime treatment procedure that we follow is called Pizhichil, followed by Elakizhi or potali massage, steam bath and different type of Vasti (Medicated enema).A head massage with oil suitable for you, face massage and face pack are the starters of the treatment procedure. Udhwarthanam or Powder massage prepared exclusively from herbs is done to reduce the excess fat in your body.
What are the benefits of this procedure?
The benefits of the procedure are innumerable. In simple words we can that say it can help in rejuvenation, detoxification and healing. Concentrating on each part of your body will help you in rejuvenation all your body parts from your hair strands to toenails. Your body get energized after completion of the treatment.
This treatment is very helpful in disease such as Rheumatoid arthritis, Osteo arthritis, Spondylosis, Spondylitis, Slip disc, Paralysis, muscular dystrophy, Sciatica, Frozen shoulder, neuropathy, Asthma etc.
Two liters of warm medicated oil is squeezed all over the body and synchronized gentle massage is given simultaneously for one hour. This will remove the stress and strain in the muscles and relaxes your body and mind. The continuous oiling and gentle massage will help to stop the progression of arthritic and degenerative changes in the body, dissolve the osteophyte formation, reduce the inflammation in the joints and restores the synovial fluid in the joints. This will help in re-establishing the normal movement of the joints and relieving the pain.The synchronized massage also helps in improving the blood circulation to all parts of the body keeping the heart and blood vessels in good condition.
Elakizhi, a special herbal pack made of leaves with medicated values is given from the 3rd day onwards. The pizhichil is followed by udhwarthanam or powder massage. A herbal powder is rubbed all over the body which will help to melt the superficial layer of fat. This step is only indicated for stout patients or obese patients and patients who wishes to reduce fat. Steam bath is provided next which will help all the liquefied toxins to end up in the gut.
Vasthi or medicated enema is given finally which will remove all the collected toxins from the gut. Vasti is one among the 5 purificatory therapy or Panchakarma. Vasti also has innumerable benefits. It is considered as prime treatment for vata rogas (diseases caused due to vata aggravation in the body i.e. arthritic, degenerative changes, neurological problems)Vasti is not only indicated for detoxification but also for promoting strength, rejuvenation, improving nerve function, reducing inflammation, relieving pain etc.
It also very beneficial to undergo the treatment twice in a year to remain healthy and fight against pollution and climate change. According to the condition and severity of the disease minimum days to be done is 7 -14 days.
